Simplicity

English style has been admired and, indeed, copied around the world from the simplest of designs to the most extravagant. I love British simplicity, the celebration of the hand-made and the appeal of natural materials. I, personally, like to furnish my home with what I know to be useful and believe to be beautiful. I have been working on my Spring/Summer Collection for several months now and will, over the coming weeks, share each of my creations with you.

Upon completion of this pillow, I felt that it needed an elaborate centre piece but wasn't sure what... After many happy hours treasure hunting, I came across the perfect diamante brooch. My pillow was now complete!

KidZone

With each New Year come a variety of opportunities and, with this in mind, I have been busy in my design studio working on a children's collection. As a little girl, I remember helping my Nan in the kitchen bake cakes and other goodies for tea on Sunday after church. I always had an apron, very practical but never girly and pretty. As a collector of beautiful linens and fabrics, I went through all the stripes, florals, checks, applique's and embroidered pieces that would work together to create some fun and pretty aprons.

Coming from a large family made one-on-one moments with my Nan difficult to achieve so cooking with with her on Sundays became a regular occurrence. For all those little girls who enjoy cooking with their Nan, Grandma or Mimi, you'll need a pretty apron! (BTW, all my aprons are either cotton, linen or a mixture of both so can go on a gentle cycle in the washing machine, press when damp and you are ready to go... again.)
